Essayli and Brown LLP Secures Dismissal of Criminal Charges for Husband and Wife Exercising Religious Liberties

Newport Beach, CA – Today, Essayli & Brown LLP filed a federal civil rights complaint on behalf of the former Mayor of Newport Beach and current Councilmember, Kevin Muldoon. Our complaint alleges multiple federal and state constitutional violations against the Governor Newsom’s recent directive closing all county and city beaches within Orange County.

Newsom’s decision to close Orange County beaches is arbitrary and unsupported by any scientific evidence. The governor based his decision on misleading media accounts and photographs of beachgoers allegedly not adhering to social distancing.
